Adult Potters Studio: Stoneware ClayComm Ed / Arts & CraftsCalling all hands-on dreamers! Whether you’ve always wanted to try pottery or you’re ready to dust off your skills, this three-session workshop is the perfect place to begin (or begin again). In the first two sessions, you’ll shape and mold stoneware clay using an electric wheel, slab roller, and extruder—tools that make the process even more fun. The final class is all about glazing: adding color, personality, and a touch of magic to your handmade treasures. This class is relaxed, beginner-friendly, and all about the joy of making something with your own two hands. Expect laughter, a little mess, and a lot of creativity. Dress for the occasion (in your grubbiest clothes) and bring an apron or towel if you like. We’ll let you know when they’re ready to pick up and admire! Mah Jongg is a captivating game with a rich history, most often played with 4 people per table. It is a great way to challenge yourself by using your brain and strategy skills. You will learn the basics of the game, how to recognize the different tiles used, and how to understand the National Mah Jongg League card which is used for the game. You will also learn the basics of game play and be able to understand the progression of the game. You may even get your first "Mah Jongg!". Participants should plan to attend both classes in full. Content is fast-paced and arriving late/leaving early can disrupt play and affect the overall experience. Babysitting 101Comm Ed / Parenting & CaregivingThis course is best suited for 10 to 13-year-olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, CPR, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems. Gymnasts will be introduced to all four events—vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise—through fun drills, games, and skill-building activities that help develop strength, coordination, flexibility, and confidence. Each one-hour class focuses on learning proper technique and building a strong foundation while encouraging teamwork, perseverance, and having fun. This class is a great place to grow skills and confidence while making new friends and cheering each other on. This class is best suited for gymnasts who are able to follow directions independently in a group setting, participate in physical activity for a full class period, and perform basic gymnastic skills (handstands, cartwheels, rolls, back/forward bends.
